Chiamaka Ugoo, born on July 3, 1987, is from Amawbia, Awka South local government area of Anambra State. She is the first child in a family of six: four boys and two girls born into the family of the late Chief Christopher Okwudili Okoye and Mrs. Helen Amaka Okoye.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Education

 

 

 

Chiamaka had both her primary and secondary education in her hometown, Amawbia, Awka South, in Anambra State. After her secondary education, she proceeded to the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State, obtaining a National Diploma (ND) in Public Administration. She furthered her studies at the Institute of Management Technology, Enugu, completing her Higher National Diploma (HND) in Public Administration.

 

 

After graduating, Chiamaka Ugoo spent some years abroad before returning to Nigeria to pursue a career in journalism. She studied broadcast journalism at the National Broadcast Academy, Ikeja, Lagos State. She previously worked as an on-air personality at Kpakpando 101.9FM, a radio station in Anambra State, where she hosted the popular show "Gwam Okwu (Talk To Me)," discussing Nigerian politics and good governance.

 

 

Chiamaka's passion for writing led her to publish her first book, "It Pays To Be Patient," at the age of 16. During her HND program, she also published the lifestyle magazine "Romeo and Juliet." Widely known for supporting young girls, she founded "The Chiamaka Ugoo Foundation," a non-governmental organization empowering the girl child through skill acquisition, education, mentorship, and poverty alleviation.
