Uyo-based makeup artist and hairstylist,Emrich Effanga, was reportedly strangled to death by her boyfriend.

On Saturday, February 8, her brother, Ifiok Effanga, a guitarist professionally known as Fiokee, mourned her tragic passing online.

He urged victims of domestic abuse to speakout before it's too late.

Her cousin, Purim Mercy, also expressed grief on Facebook, revealing that the suspect was an usher at their church.

"Emrich Effanga, you're gone. We had no idea you were in an abusive relationship with someone who claimed to love you. Now, he has killed you by strangulation-an usher at your church, no less. So sad. My baby cousin,may your soul rest in peace. Goodbye,' she wrote.
