Chidinma was born in Ketu, Kosofe, Lagos State. In an interview, she revealed that she was born blind and regained her sight after a few months. She later founded the NMA Foundation, dedicated to aiding visually impaired children across Africa.

After relocating to Ikorodu, Chidinma worked as a business promoter before auditioning for the third season of Project Fame West Africa. Despite initial academic aspirations, she embraced the opportunity, winning the competition in 2010. Prizes included ₦2.5 million, a 2011 Toyota RAV4, and a production deal.

 

Chidinma's debut studio album, *Chidinma* (2011), showcased hits like "Jankoliko," "Carry You Go," "Kedike," and "Run Dia Mouth." Notably, she won Best Female West African Act at the 2012 Kora Awards.

 

Transitioning to gospel music in 2021, she released "Jehovah Overdo," marking the beginning of her Christian ministry. The gospel EP, *New Season* (2021), and the soul-lifting album, *Psalm 16* (2022), underscore her spiritual evolution. Collaborations with KS Bloom, Indira, and Buchi enrich the latter.
