Eddie Samuel Obong Watson Jr, also known as Eddie Watson, was born on May 22, 1980. He is an actor and producer of Ghanaian and Liberian descent. In 2014, he achieved recognition for his work in the film "Ebola," which he not only acted in but also wrote, directed, and produced. For his contributions to the movie, he received his first Ghanaian Movie Award.

Career 

Eddie Watson began his professional acting career in 2010 with the movie "Labour of Love." Around the same time, he also appeared in a supporting role in the African war film "Somewhere in Africa." His performance in "Somewhere in Africa" earned him a nomination at the Nollywood & African Films Critics Awards (NAFCA).

In 2011, Watson made his debut in the Nigerian film industry, also known as Nollywood. He played a role alongside Queen Nwokoye in a movie called "Desperate Heart." This marked the beginning of his successful career in African entertainment. He went on to appear in several popular movies, including "Single and Married," "Labour of Love," "Somewhere in Africa," and "House of Gold."

In 2014, Watson took a significant step in his career by writing, producing, and directing the short film "Ebola." This film was a response to the Ebola virus outbreak in West Africa. His work on "Ebola" earned him his first Ghana Movie Award for Best Short Film. Since then, he has also produced other notable films like "Jack & Jill" and "She Prayed."

Eddie Watson is happily married to the talented actress Naomi Baaba Watson. They got married in a private ceremony after dating for two years. On February 2, 2015, they welcomed their first child, Emirror (Emi) Cassia Watson. Unfortunately, Eddie Watson shared the sad news of his mother, Leonora Caulker's passing on May 27, 2021, through his Instagram page.
