Emelia Brobbey was born and raised in Akyem Swedru in the Eastern region of Ghana. She attended Akyem Swedru Secondary School before furthering her education at Presbyterian Teacher's Training College. Upon completing her Teacher's Certificate 'A', Emelia was assigned to teach Agricultural Science in Obuasi. It was during her teaching career that she was introduced to acting. Additionally, Emelia holds a diploma in Journalism, a bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, and an ICM certificate in Broadcast Journalism.

Emelia began her acting career after working as a teacher and quickly became well-known in the Ghanaian film industry. Her talent and dedication earned her the Best Indigenous Actress of the Year award and a nomination for Best Supporting Actress of the Year at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2016. She continued to receive recognition, winning the Best Gallywood Actress and Best Philanthropist awards at the 3G Awards in New York in 2018. In 2019, she was honored with the Best Actor Female Indigenous award at the ZAFAA Global Awards, presented by the African Film Academy Awards.

 

In addition to acting, Emelia ventured into music. She released her first single, "Fa me ko," in 2019. Despite criticism of her singing, she continued to pursue her music career and released a second single, "Odo Electric," in January 2020.
