Jamiu Damilare Tajudeen (born October 25, 1995), popularly known as Jamopyper, is a renowned Nigerian indigenous rapper, singer, and songwriter. Hailing from Iganna in Oyo State, Nigeria, he joined Zanku Records, a label owned by Nigerian artist Zlatan Ibile, in 2020. That same year, he earned a nomination for Rookie of the Year at The Headies. Jamopyper is widely recognized as one of the most promising talents in the Nigerian music scene.

Early Life and Education

Jamopyper, whose full name is Jamiu Damilare Tajudeen, was born on October 25, 1995, in Egbeda, Lagos, Nigeria, as the eldest of six children. He attended Topaz Emerald School in Egbeda for his primary education and completed his secondary education at Millennium Secondary School, also in Egbeda.

Musical Career Journey

Initially aspiring to become a mechanical engineer, Jamopyper discovered his passion for music at the age of 12, performing at small gatherings and receiving praise that encouraged him to pursue music professionally in 2005. Influenced by artists such as Akon, Rihanna, Wizkid, Davido, and 9ice, he decided to focus fully on his musical ambitions.

His breakthrough came in 2018 with the release of the single "Omode Meta," featuring Zlatan and Naira Marley. This was followed by another hit, "Josi," featuring Zlatan and Chinko Ekun, which further solidified his presence in the Nigerian music scene.

Jamopyper's career gained momentum with the success of "Of Lala," a song that topped Nigerian music video charts for weeks. This was soon followed by the release of "If No Be You," featuring Mayorkun, a track that became a nationwide hit. 

His signing with Zlatan's Zanku Records in 2019 marked a turning point in his career. Since then, he has been featured on several tracks and collaborated with top artists in the industry. In 2020, he was nominated for Rookie of the Year at the prestigious Headies Awards, alongside Omah Lay, Laycon, and Tems.
