Gregory Bortey Promise Newman, widely known as King Promise, is a renowned Ghanaian singer and songwriter. Born on 16th August 1995 in Nungua, Accra, Ghana, he is signed with Legacy Life Entertainment, a record label owned by Gervin Ohene Addo.
In 2016, King Promise made his mark in the music industry with his inaugural single, "Thank God," featuring Fuse ODG and produced by Killbeatz. This song served as a catalyst for his rise to prominence, bringing him into the limelight.

King Promise received his basic education at De Kings Academy, followed by secondary education at Nungua Senior High School. He completed his tertiary education in 2016 at Central University, specializing in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing.
During his school days, music wasn't initially part of King Promise's plan. His focus was on finishing school and securing a degree. Despite his passion for music, it became a serious pursuit after joining the school choir in high school and later engaging in an impromptu studio session.
