Lucky Udu, whose full name is David Lucky Udu, was born on June 2, 1997, in Owanta, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. He is a multifaceted individual known for his impactful work as a filmmaker, poverty activist, and digital content creator. Udu is the CEO of Lucky Udu Studio and the President of the Lucky Udu Foundation. Additionally, he leads the “Say No To Fraud Initiative,” a campaign focused on fighting cybercrime among African youth and raising awareness about its negative impact on society and national reputation.

Lucky Udu completed his primary and secondary education in Delta State, Nigeria. He then attended Elizade University, a private institution in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, where he earned a degree in English.
Inspired by Nas Daily, Lucky Udu developed a passion for poverty activism. He has interviewed several former celebrities, including Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku; musicians Sky B, J'odie, Adaz, Franca Tia Tia, Agatha Moses, and Soty; and skit makers Denilson Igwe and Thespian Nozy. In October 2022, he documented the flood disaster that impacted Lokoja and other parts of Nigeria. Udu is known for interviewing celebrities who experienced a downfall, helping them share their stories and seeking public support to aid their comeback.
Dr. Lucky Udu has received multiple accolades for his societal contributions, including an honorary doctorate from the Institute of Corporate and Public Administrators of Nigeria (ICPAN). This award honors his commitment to community service and national development.
Orphaned at a young age, Lucky Udu was raised by his uncle in Port Harcourt before being sent back to Delta State at 14. These experiences have instilled in him a strong desire to help the less privileged. As of 2024, he is single and without children.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, Udu provided food for over 45 families in his community. At Elizade University, he led initiatives to support financially struggling students and advocated for the waiving of laboratory and matriculation gown fees, an unprecedented achievement in the university’s history.
