During her early schooling years, Rachael attended Woodland Nursery and Primary School in Nsukka, and later completed her secondary education at Attakwu Secondary School in Enugu State.

 

 

Following her secondary education, she enrolled at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, located in Awka, Anambra State, where she graduated with a degree in Mass Communication. It was during her time at the university that Rachael developed a passion for acting. Rachael Okonkwo began her acting career in 2005, but due to the scarcity of movie roles, she turned to dancing. She appeared in numerous music videos by well-known Nigerian musicians such as Gozie Okeke, Blessed Samuel, Chinedu Nwadike, and others.

 

 

In 2007, she officially entered the Nigerian film industry by becoming a member of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), specifically the Enugu Chapter. She became involved in auditions and started to land minor roles in films. 

 

 

In 2008, she acted in a supporting role in "Royal War," a film that also starred Ini Edo and Van Vicker. Two years later, in 2010, she was in another film, "Open And Close," where she played a supporting role alongside Nuella Njibuigbo, Patience Ozorkwo, John Okafor, and Charles Inojie.
