Controversy 

On April 1, 2019, a news website published a report claiming that Ned Nwoko was financially supporting Regina Daniels. This story quickly spread across Nigerian news websites. On April 27, 2019, Nwoko received an honorary doctorate degree from the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun.
