Raised in a single-parent household in Kaduna, Skales developed a passion for music while frequenting his mother's cassette store. He later attended the University of Jos and participated in the Zain Tru Search Competition, winning the North Central region. Eventually, he graduated from Lead City University with a degree in office management and technology.
Skales began writing rap songs in 2000 and collaborated with prominent artists like Akon, ELDee, and Tekno. His notable songs include "Shake Body," "Mukulu," and "Komole." After signing with Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E) in 2009, he contributed to the label's debut compilation album, "Empire Mates State of Mind" (2012). Skales later founded his record label, OHK Music, in May 2014, releasing his debut studio album, "Man of the Year," the same year.
Skales, born in Edo State, faced challenges growing up, but his mother's influence and his passion for music shaped his journey. In December 2011, he survived a car accident on the Lekki-Epe Expressway, where one person tragically lost their life.
